Summer Children's Classes
Summer is a time perfect for your children to explore their creativity. I have 3 sessions of art classes planned, so one is sure to fit with your family's schedule. We do one art project per week, so enrollment for half-sessions is also possible if space allows. The emphasis is on fun and experimentation, so let your child unwind from a busy day with an art class!
All of the following classes will be held 4-5:30pm
Classes are designed to suit the learning abilities of children ages 7 and up and are $70 for 4 classes, all materials included. $35 for half-sessions as space allows.
Session 1: Tuesdays and Thursdays June 28, 30, July 5, 7
Sculpture from Found Objects- building, drawing and painting.
This class will be held at Artiste Gallery and will be a 3-D building class, that will follow with a painting of the 3-D object. Two sculptural objects and paintings will be created in the 4 classes. Participants are encouraged to bring recyclables or other found objects to include in their creation.
Session 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays July 12,14,19,21
Painting from Life- we will be painting outdoors in local gardens, weather permitting. In the case of weather that is inappropriate for outdoor painting we will meet at Artiste Gallery and create a still-life painting that the students will help design. We will be at a different garden each week, and complete 2 paintings in the 4 classes.
Session 3: Tuesdays and Thursdays Aug. 16, 18, 23, 25
Painting from Life- see description for Session 2. We will be at different gardens from Session 2 so students taking both sessions may plan on seeing different views to paint.
Each session is $70 per child and includes all painting materials.
Enrollment is limited to no more than 8 per class, so sign up early for the class you want.
Directions to the gardens will be given to enrolled students prior to the first class. Students will need to bring a towel and drinking water to class and are encouraged to come with bug spray and sunscreen applied.
Weekly Summer Classes:
Teen Class: Thursday, June 30 -July 21, 2-3:30pm at Artiste
Gallery. Fee: $70 for 4 weeks- includes materials. This
class is a "studio" class and students may work on any subject in any
medium of their choosing. Absolutely fun!! Perfect place to work on your
portfolio!
Ages 5 and 6: Art Explorers- student-driven class offers the opportunity to explore several art mediums over the 4 classes. At least 2 projects will be completed.Session 1: Tuesdays 2:30-3:30 pm : June 28, July 5, 12, 19 ($70 for 4 classes, materials included); Session 2: Aug. 16, 23 (half session: $35) 5 Student max means lots of personal attention!
Ages 3 and 4: Dab and Swirl- An art class designed to let preschoolers get a little messy with paint, sponges and other tools. We'll mix colors and get creative in this 45 minute class.
Session 1: Thursdays 1-1:45pm; July 7, 14 Session 2: Thursdays 1- 1:45 pm Aug. 18, 25
(This class will be $24 for the 2 classes, all materials included.)
This class will be 5 children max, so I expect it to fill up quickly.
